Pura Vida in Costa Rica

On a magically impulsive day last Spring I was laying in bed looking up flights and airbnb rooms in exotic places. To be fair this happens minimum once a week so.. not really a shocker there.
What happened next was pretty ballsy. I stumbled across a treehouse in the jungles of Costa Rica just off the coast. Five seconds later I had dates picked out, roundtrip flights, and could already see myself sharing a banana with a lil monkey. As I was waiting to click the "book this dope vacation now! do it! do it do it do it! ok no seriously, do it already" button, I glanced over at my boyfriend. "Hey, do you want to go to Costa Rica?" His response was a kind hearted but clearly disinterested "not really."
Hence the opening sentence. Keep in mind I exhaustively ask people to go on trips with me all the time, and this is often the answer. Sometimes a girls just got to go out in the world alone and do what she wants! Despite my disbelief that I'd have fun alone, I hit the button.
It was my first true solo vacation and everyone thought I was crazy, but you know what? I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm so confident this won't be even close to my last solo journey, I'd like to leave a note to future solo traveler me: Wherever you go, learn some of the language first, will you?!
I stayed in Quepos / Manuel Antonio for about a week, and I could go on and on about the entire experience. Things happened! I ate stuff! Emotional roller coaster! Personal growth! Lizards! Monkies! A single sloth! Monopoly money! Public transportation! Language barriers! Sunshine! Rain! BUGS. Relaxation! Mangos! Etc.
Here are some photos I took that do not do the country justice at all but are nonetheless fun to gaze upon:
I leave you with this semi-acceptable edit of some of my trip's moments. I unfortunately have since deleted my time-lapse of the disgusting uphill battle I went through (every day) to get to my hilltop residence, as well as my spot-on double rainbow remake (my double rainbow was better).
